CODE OF SCHOOL BEHAVIOUR

 Student and staff each year construct and agree upon the Code of School Behaviour.  The Code is based upon four Principles.

 

Respect

  • Be polite and use your manners at all times

  • Bullying is out of the questions

  • Remember to accept people as they are, whatever their race or how they choose to live their life

  • Avoid using crude language towards others, reduce the swearing and be careful what you say

  • Treat others the way you would like to be treated, even if they have scars

  • Wear respectful clothes instead of showing off your junk (Remember the 5 B’s)

  • Throwing objects towards others is rude (except appropriately in a game)

  • Have respect for yourself

  • Yelling is unacceptable

  • Respect other people’s opinions, personal space and belongings

  • Care for the buildings and equipment

  • Be kind

  • Respect other students, the staff, helpers and visitors

  • Keep hand and feet to ourselves

  • Care for others

  • Be aweare of people’s needs and wants

  • Refrain from touching things that are not yours

  • Clean up any mess you have

  • Keep your options to yourself, unless they are helpful

  • Give everyone a chance to talk

  • Listen when teachers and guests speak

 

Safe and Legal

  • Everyone should feel safe at school – speak to staff if there is an issue

  • Avoid coming to school under the influence

  • Discard any sharp or unsafe objects property

  • Only smoke in designated smoking areas

  • Report snakes to the YOS staff instead of touching, irritating or annoying them

  • Leave drugs at home

  • Stay safe

  • Leave weapons at home (this includes knives, machetes, axes and nunchakus)

 

Responsibility

  • Be responsible for your own work, actions and choices

  • Help pack up your stuff at the end of the day

  • Do your best to attend school every day

  • Try your best in your work and meet the deadlines

  • Ask for help if you need it

  • Take the breaks at the appropriate times and be back in class on time for each session

  • Help others on clean up days

  • Put your rubbish in the bin

  • Remember to pick your smokes up off the ground after you have had a ciggie

  • Avoid spitting when others are around and in areas where people will be walking

 

Participation

  • Come to school

  • Try to participate in all activities in you are comfortable – but “give it a go”

  • Try your hardest in all activities (in and out of the classroom)

 

Students who are not valuing the four principles of the program will be asked to leave the school for the day.
